Stroke Victim Seeks to Continue Community Activity

An advocate for an elderly woman in Syracuse’s south side called on the Methodist Conference for help. Operation Northern Comfort and the Conference have established a cooperative effort in assisting those in need. A joint team of volunteers came together in response. Pre-built ramp sections were constructed at the Methodist Conference Center and later transported to the client’s home. There the team worked together erecting the ramp. A video was made of the efforts and transmitted live to the Conference Center where a seminar on community service activity was being held.

The client had suffered a stroke and had limited use of shoulders and arms. She has been very active in her community and the ramp will allow her to continue helping others.
